Sea-Tex roller shade fabric is made with 50% recycled ocean plastic (approx. 125 grams per square meter) which equates to an average to large size commercial project using approximately 480kg of recovered ocean plastic.

Available in five colours as non-metallised and metallised options, 100% recyclable, fire retardant and PVC free. Sea-Tex can be applied to Climate Ready Fabrics manual, motorised and automated solar control roller shade systems for use in commercial, education, government, hospitality and residential projects.

Sea-Tex environmental certification

Cradle to Cradle Certified™ Bronze Certified
A globally recognized measure of safer, more sustainable products made for the circular economy. Products are assessed for environmental and social performance across five critical sustainability categories: material health, material reuse, renewable energy and carbon management, water stewardship, and social fairness.

UL GREENGUARD ® Gold Certified
Standard for Chemical Emissions for Building Materials, Finishes and Furnishings.
Products that have achieved GREENGUARD Certification are scientifically proven to meet some of the world’s most rigorous third-party chemical emissions standards, helping to reduce indoor air pollution and the risk of chemical exposure.

RCS (Recycled Claim Standard) Certified
The RCS (Recycled Claim Standard) is used as a chain of custody standard to track recycled raw

To help protect the ocean, Climate Ready Sea-Tex fabric uses FLX yarn from Bionic©

FLX is made from plastics recovered from shorelines and coastal communities around the world.

Heating and spinning together dozens of strands, FLX is defined by its high versatility, varying lustre and tenacity.

The product collaboration developed by Climate Ready Fabrics and yarn innovation company Bionic® aims to help and reduce the impact of plastic pollution in the world’s oceans.

Bionic develop localised recycling programs together with a global network of environmental organisations such as Waterkeeper Alliance to collect, sort and process recovered ocean plastic.

How is Sea-Tex made?

1:
Recovered ocean plastic waste is collected and sorted by localised recycling programs partnered through environmental organisations such as Waterkeeper Alliance.

2: Plastic materials are sorted by resin type. Plastic is cut down into smaller pieces allowing further processing. Float tanks are used to separate material based on density and whether it sinks or floats.

3: After sorting, seperating and drying the reclaimed material the flake stock is ready to be extruded into pellets.

4: Pellets are then melted, extruded and spun into Bionic yarn for Sea-TexTM fabric.

5: The yarn is now woven into Sea-TexTM fabric, dyed and finished.

6: Sea-TexTM fabric is now ready to be used in Climate Ready Fabrics finished roller shade systems.
